You can use Kinemaster to create a light effect by dragging a text over your object. The key is to keep the text small and as close to the area you want to glow, otherwise your image will be blown up to fill the space, which won’t look very good.

Step 2: Set up a Recording Area

You can record your animation in about five seconds by clicking the icon in the upper left-hand corner, which brings up the Record Setup dialog. Click the circular pad button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Step 3: Record

Once you’ve entered the dialog, you can choose to record or not. Recording is useful if you want to check your timing, change the position of your keyframes, or adjust your layers.

Step 4: Copy and paste your animation

Once you’ve selected your file you can paste it directly into Kinemaster.

Create a blank project

Take in a screenshot of your current project (use a recent project from within Kinemaster or the Polygon Window) in the current window

Open a duplicate of this project, select the alpha channel and move it to a safe position

Double click the folder to load it, and your project should automatically become open source

As you can see here, the Alpha Channel is in the upper left. You can edit this using the drop-down arrow next to the text. With your cursor in the location of your window’s title bar (press Ctrl + Q ), press Ctrl + L to zoom in, and you can look at the centre of the window. You’ll see the dialogue boxes for the other tabs: “Project Type”, “Export File”, “Include Additional Images”, “Texture Type”, etc.

Import your video overlay

First, let’s get all of our clips imported. We’ll start with those .mov files from our plugin. They can be downloaded as a zip file. Open it up, and you should find all the footage listed at the top. They’ll all be under the name part1. If the video contains audio (the exception), you’ll need to make sure you select this.

The only clip you might not be able to find is the clip you put into the sequence in your editor. Sometimes when you upload an .mov file to a plugin, the audio from that clip gets attached to the metadata of the plugin so that the plugin can play it. So this clip doesn’t appear here.

To find the .mov file, you’ll need to add the video you’re uploading to a plugin. It’s pretty simple.
